Aside from Room, my other favourites were Then We Came To The End (a workplace satire told in first-person-plural), Little Princes (not usually much for non-fiction but this was really great), Saturday and Behind the Scenes at the Museum.
After a re-read, A Confederacy of Dunces still holds up as my second favourite novel of all-time.

ReplyDeleteI am about halfway through Then We Came to the End and am liking it so far, I think.
What did you think of Her Fearful Symmetry? I hated it about halfway through but had to see how it ended.
I thought Her Fearful Symmetry was very...strange. I never struggled to keep reading but I couldn't really tell you why. I didn't really enjoy it or hate it. I finished it with a kind of shrug and a "Huh, that was kind of weird and mediocre."
